Bachelor of Ministry
Media studies at the Bachelor level provides students with specific knowledge on media and communication trends, tools and concepts, the role of media and communication, theories, and the practical application of media in the corporate and the Christian world.
A practical introduction to basic skills in the use of media to communicate the message of Christ in a culturally relevant manner.
Basics of Media Writing
Students learn multiple writing genres for media through Celtx software, including news articles, press releases, editorials, dramatic scripts/stories, documentary/educational narration, and social media posts.
Introduction to Social Media in Ministry
This subject provides a basic understanding of the relationship between beliefs, perceptions, and practices related to social media and spiritual formation.
Media Culture & Society
This course explores the relationship between media, communication, culture and society. Students debate and discuss about media technologies, media contents and users, media within power and control, media and the public sphere, and media within different social and cultural changes and transformations.
Media Marketing Strategies
Students are introduced to the foundational concepts of new media strategies and marketing practices. Emphasis is on the use of audience research and analysis of customer relations-driven data collection using social media, apps, video and CRM software. Students are required to prepare a detailed project proposal that includes all concepts of a new media campaign.
Master of Ministry
Media studies at the Master level helps students understand the way media and communications shape our social, cultural, spiritual and political discourses – and how to make direct, strategic and optimal impact on the world, through effective communication, that is wholistic and Christ centred.
The subject offers a practical introduction to basic skills in the use of media to communicate the message of Christ in a culturally relevant manner.

Social Media in Ministry
This subject provides a basic understanding of the relationship between beliefs, perceptions, and practices related to social media and spiritual formation. Also, this provides an overview of recent social media history (from 2005 till date) and participatory culture with special attention to south and southeast Asia.
Media Production and Design
Students are taught to relate stories using online creativity – to write, to shoot videos, click pictures, add audio, data and graphics and design the whole story package. Then, they use computer programming skills to pull it all together on a screen or mobile device to engage audiences of all ages.

Masilamani Selvaraj
Mr. Masilamani Selvaraj received his Diploma in Filmmaking from Bridge Academy, Chennai and Master in Media Studies from Madras University. He teaches Media Communications at both Bachelor and Master level. In addition to teaching, writing scripts, he equips students to upskill themselves to produce contextually relevant media tools in various genre.
Joseph Anand
Joseph Anand has a Master of Divinity, majoring in Media Communications from Lakeview, and teaches Media Communications at both Bachelor and Master levels. In addition to teaching, he is involved in production and post production of projects. Also, he has initiated a production house and a marketing agency, as a takeaway of Lakeview.

During my two years of being in the media department at Lakeview, I had the opportunity to learn and develop a wide range of skills. From using softwares like Celtix, and script writing to photography, videography, lighting settings, and video editing, I was able to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of media production. This experience has not only expanded my knowledge, it has also allowed me to contribute to the success of various projects. I am grateful for the opportunities and support provided by the media department, and I am confident that the skills and knowledge I have gained are valuable assets for my future endeavours.
